Rob - I like to think that the chameleon doesn't show up on the side bar as he is a shy reptile, camouflaging himself against the webpage...

My 'training' has been rubbish - almost non-existent in January (life stuff...), recovered in February, and I slithered/hobbled in last on the GVH 17 miler yesterday. My running partner kindly hung back and got soaked and frozen along with me.

So, a Fetchpoint would be a great idea, if only to remind me to smile when in pain through lack of proper preparation.

However, we're in, we're doing it, and we'll finish.

A fetchpoint would be very welcome!

I gave taken a week off to rest my calf, went for a tentative 4 miles and it feels good. It dud mean missing a 22 mike run this Sunday, so I'm going to attempt a lsr in the Mojave desert whilst I'm away. Then it's one more 22 miler when I'm back and tapir time! Excited!

FF if you're there! I'm going to try the paracetemol & caffeine thing on my 20 miler this Sunday, after how many miles did you say to take them?

I usually try to take them about 2 hours into the run, this will be based on a 4 hour marathon (hopefully). They take about 20 minutes to work.

Let me know how you get on...I have 20 miles this weekend as well.

Thanks FF, about 10 miles in on a 20 miler will be fine then, I would love to get somewhere near 4 hours as I was 4.13 last year, would be happy enough with about 4.05 as I was injured for a bit last year.

Instead of taking paracetamol ... try a GU gel... the Blackberry has a double shot of caffeine. Perked me up on my LSR last weekend. Also it's like having a mouthful of jam... very tasty :-)
