The Travel Lodge at Preston Park had cheap rooms but you have to book 2 night or it is more expesive for one night. The 2nd night cost £5.

We stayed in Newhaven - only needed one night, and the drive to the park and ride was only 10 mins.

SO there is only 1 week. So if one were lucky enough to get into London....walking it would be a tad ambitious after running first marathon the week before methinks.
