Thanks Ron - I reckon yours is a dead cert! Are you in the 3.45 - 4.00 start pen?

I think so. I got horribly stuck in the crowds for the first 5k, and it was so crowded the whole way round that you have to be very careful if running on the far right or far left - you can't see kerbs approaching and keep tripping over them (my toes were wrecked post Berlin). Berlin is fast, just like Paris and London, but only if you have space to run in. I personally think it suffers from its own popularity.

Brighton is also a big race, but the congestion eases off very quickly and there are very few ascents, all of which are small. It's net downhill too from memory.

Berlin was crowded but I actually feel it helped me keep my pace fairly even throughout. I never felt hampered by the numbers and it was pleasing to pass through the field in the closing stages.

I'd like a similar experience at Brighton.
