I will be travelling up from Southampton for the park and ride on the day. Is the park and ride for spectators too though?

Paul, I intend on shopping and expo-ing. I am going to treat myself to a nice new pair of silly heels if I get my sub 4 :-)

I shall be arriving on race day, but then I'm only 25 miles up the road.

Train to Preston Park like I did last year, and most Saturdays during the footie season, though without the pub stop :)

Yeh, I'm only in Pompey but I quite fancied doing the expo on the saturday & eliminating the potential travel diaster on the day (knowing my luck!)

I am going to try something new on marathon day...run at marathon pace for 26 miles instead of just a few miles ;-)

Bear in mind if you are staying at a seafront hotel and you leave your car in their carpark on the Sunday you may not be able to get away until gone 4pm as the road is closed until then

I think we'll just get the train down. We're staying Sunday night as well so it will be nice to go back after rush hour on Monday.

FF - I'm going to try that technique too ;-)

Hmm I've just been looking at train prices for getting to/from Brighton the day before and home on the day of the race.

Now bearing in mind husband and I live on the Brighton to Bedford line. It's actually going to work our cheaper to drive down and stay in a hotel on the Sunday night after the race than it would be to get the train. Wft is that all about???

Oh dear, really? I'd best check prices. We'd get the train from Clapham Junction so have the joy of London prices.
