I assumed it must be allright. Not sure how they could justify the line that if you have entered the race, the only way you can run is if you are Brighton the day before. Would seem incredibly harsh.

This is what it says in the FAQs
For the last two years some Race packs have not been received on time by our runners. This has led to an increase in work load for the Brighton Marathon team at the most critical period before the event. To ensure that we do not have the problems in the future we have decided to ask runners, or a friend, a member of their family, a running buddy or a colleague to collect the number instead. This should ensure that every runner wakes up on race day morning with the correct information, number, race chip and kit bag.

Ultra Kanga Kazzaaaaah!!
I'm likely going to have to get someone to pick mine up for me so am hoping there'll be no issues - or with parking on race day like last year! Talking of parking, wonder if the park and ride tickets are on sale yet?

If my memory serves me right and I'm not staying in Brighton on the Saturday, I'll be going down Friday to collect mine, I'm not doing two trips in two days.

Don't blame you Kaz, if I end up having to go down on the Friday I'd be able to pick yours up if you can't get someone else to do it.

advice please:
my best friend is also doing the brighton marathon - she had a severe ankle injury last year - but this seems to have healed quite well - however she has now developed a knee problem on the inner side - no falls or knocks and no bruising or swelling. It hurts to load bear when walking - and therefore running is obviously an issue - her trainers are new and she was advise by gait analysis to wear support trainers - which she does. Immediately prior to her knee hurting she had a pain in her lower left side of her back which she thought may be sciatica - but this cleared up in a few days
after resting and icing her knee it doesnt seemed to have resolved - and she doesnt like the idea of going to see a sports physio - which is the only course of action i can think of at this stage due to what could possibly be a mechanical problem with her running
any ideas of what the problem could be? and any course of action?
thanks

The only thing I can think of off the top of my head is, it's not the cold is it?
My advice would be that she gets it checked, if she carries on running on it it will only get worse

i don't think so - she uses the treadmill at the moment rather than pounding pavements - she managed about a minute 2 days ago and had to stop - so cross trained instead - :-/
