I'd say it's great as a first one - not very hilly, great organisation and brilliant support for much of the course. It may be windy or hot, but we can't influence those. There's a long lonely section out to about 23 miles which is a bit dreary but the last 3 are along the sea front with great crowds.

hehe, nope, most of it is grand. and the finish is brilliant. But every marathon tends to have lonely scetions, whether externally or internally. which training plan are you looking at? |

Who was asking about asthma and breathing? anyway cold air can irritate the lining of the lungs - the easiest way is to run a bit easier but yes if it is worse than usual then I would go and see your GP and get tested ![]() |

Brighton is great as a first - it was my first one and I've done it twice since, and will be doing it for a 4th time next year. Not too hilly, amazing crowd support and a lovely finish ![]() (I'm doing London as well next year. I intend to just bimble round and enjoy myself) |

Mixing my training plan up a bit, Bath Half at the begining of March is a race I love, so bit of speed work and some long runs, you Ruth?

I've never done it, but from the map it looks like the power station bit is the stretch of course my cousin is most likely to be on (6 week old baby permitting...) - she lives out that way and said that she'd probably come out to cheer me on.

Don't know what's up with the race website. Here's my route from this year's race: http://www.fetcheveryone.com/route-841617 |
