Hi ,
It looks like you're using an ad blocker.

The revenue generated from the adverts on the site is a critical part of our funding - and it's because of these ads that I can offer the site for free. But using the site for free AND blocking the ads doesn't feel like a great thing to do, which is why this box is so large and inconvenient. Some sites will completely block your access, but I'm not doing that - I'm appealing to your good nature instead. Did you know that you can allow ads for specific sites, whilst still blocking them on others?

Thanks,
Ian Williams aka Fetch

Anyone got any tricks for this one in terms of keeping accommodation prices down. I've got something booked, but it's miles above my usual budget!

The only way to get costs down is to stay further away :-( The first year I managed to get a room in the Great Western on the seafront. It was the cheapest so far. A bit noisy tho!

Must decide what I'm doing about accommodation. I have an offer of a bed from a relative but I can be quite stroppy the night before a marathon and tend to prefer a hotel room where I don't need to be sociable. I'll meet up with them while I'm down there but I think I'd rather just do a meal rather than descending on them for the weekend.

Having said that, I haven't looked at accommodation prices yet so may change my mind...

Stay close to a train statiOn and travel in to Preston Park in the morning. Possibly cheaper, but I have never done it.

I'm doing my usual and staying in Worthing with my mates who are both also running the marathon...... it's going to be fun that morning. 5 adults running the marathon and two teenagers heading down to support.

Bit miffed that the deadline for transferring places on this is mid-June, a full 10 months before the race itself. Most unhelpful.

I think that is fairly standard for a big event isn't it?
You can defer.

Dunno, see threads all over the shop here for people transferring a few weeks before the event. Got into London, but not sure if I am ready for a Full after a dodgy Half a few weeks back. Was thinking of deferring London and let someone else run Brighton in my place, but apparently I can't do that.

Pre-Race for the regulations Fetch Photo, please assemble outside the massive white tent in the middle of Preston Park.

As you look up the park (it's a slope) we shall be congregating on the right hand side of said massive white tent... the information and lost sprogs tent, it is close to the Pavillion...very close.

Group Photo 08:15?

Post race, we are heading to the Hop Pole pub.

Have a cracking race, see you all on Sunday.
