Hi ,
It looks like you're using an ad blocker.

The revenue generated from the adverts on the site is a critical part of our funding - and it's because of these ads that I can offer the site for free. But using the site for free AND blocking the ads doesn't feel like a great thing to do, which is why this box is so large and inconvenient. Some sites will completely block your access, but I'm not doing that - I'm appealing to your good nature instead. Did you know that you can allow ads for specific sites, whilst still blocking them on others?

Thanks,
Ian Williams aka Fetch

Having had a look around there isnt much in the way of fabulous hotels in Brighton of the sort I am looking for so I think I am going to plumb for the Hotel Du Vin unless anyone has any other recommendations for Sunday night of that order?

I would advise getting a hotel near the finish rather than the start! The walk up from the seafront is only 15mins and it is a great way of getting the legs working. After the finish you have to climb up (yes really) the steps from Madeira Drive to the road and then you will benefit from a short stagger to the hotel.

Best Western is a good one to try but book early... like NOW!

Curly 'Hotel Du Vin' is a fab choice. I stayed in Drakes which was good but they didn't get the Marathon thing at all! My Hotel was a good place but a little noisy. I stayed in Best Western for the first one and it was cheaper but really noisy if you got a room facing the road. Luck plays some part in this!
Most will not allow you to book only one night over the weekend so it means a Fri/Sat or a Sat/Sun stay.

Next year it will be the Hotel Una!

have a search and see what you find :-)

Just checked Hotels, last year I booked in October, this year it is already pretty thin.
Booked into the Umi. It was a bit steep, but I have stayed in the only other option I could find before and it wasn't great.

They also said that in 2011 and I don't think they ever were. I hope they manage it next year.

Yes, Nellers, that would be good. According to the news/media section of the Brighton marathon website, they have managed to secure a deal - do hope it works out.
