Breaking trainers in for a marathon

By my reckoning, if you alternate shoes regularly, you'll get a lot more life out of them. I've got three pairs on the go at the minute for general running, all at different stages of wear. The oldest have the best part of 600 miles on them and there's plenty of life in them yet.

My OCD means I do 26.2 training miles to break a pair in pre marathon but rotate 4 pairs & get 800 - 1000 miles out of a pair - but dont run marathons in a pair beyond 650 miles.
