Jono, the RD *has* metaphorically fought them off with a stick a couple of times over the years - there was an ill-judged spamming incident on Fetch which pissed a lot of people off, and there was the fiasco of proposing that entrants raised at least £250 for the race charity on top of paying their entry fees. People remember stuff like that when they're choosing their races from hundreds of spring marathons.

But I agree. It's a marvellous event, a beautiful course that's challenging but not gratuitously brutal, and always well organised and managed. I've enjoyed it every time I've done it :)

Well done, Toks :) That's a fabulous improvement medal

Sounds like there were some cracking runs by Fetchies here yesterday.

I know I said this last year too, but I might get off my bike and target this race next spring. I can't think of a marathon course that I like better.

Thanks Vel :-) best time was 6.35 day one of 10 in 10 last year and never repeated but smashed this year with one round the lake, so happy :-)

All my best Windermere times were my 10-in-10 times. I'd quite like to run it just the once, properly trained. Though, realistically, if it was going to be a PB course for me I'd have run a PB on the first day of the 10-in-10, and I was actually about 20 minutes off.
