I must stop looking at this thread. Of course I don't want to spend my birthday next year completing my first ever marathon. Expect I'd be a 6 hour finisher - though I have walked one in 5:47. Someone tell me this is stupid - planning to do first marathon after a 6 month injury break has got to be stupid

can't think of a better thing to do on your birthday than a marathon, i did NY the day before mine & went for coffee & cake in central park on the day itself this year i'm treating myself to athens, flying on my birthday & running the classic 2 days later
