This is going to be my first ever marathon & I can't wait for it to start. Nerves & excitement of the challenge. Will this be an absolute killer for my debut or a decednt challenge?

Welcome, Vanhoggs.
Whether or not it's an absolute killer depends on how you approach it and how you've trained. DaveA did it as his first marathon 2 years ago and ran a blinder.
If you've trained exclusively in flat places, you will find Windermere quite challenging, but if you're confident on hills (up AND down), you will be absolutely fine. There's nothing sustained or vertical on the course, it just undulates a lot.
And there's an 8-hour cut-off

Vanhoggs, this is my first marathon too and i'm sure there are a good number of us doing this for the first time. Now is the time to get all the negative thoughts out of your head, look forward to the great set up, the excitement, and the great course. You will be fine, honestly. Can't wait, can't wait, can't wait, can't wait.............

Vanhoggs,
You'll be fine, it's such a lovely course that it will be worth any discomfort you might feel Just set off nice and easy!
I train exclusively in flat places, but I manage somehow LOL!

Welcome to Fetch Vanhoggs!
This is my first marathon too. Looking forward to it but a bit worried about a sore ITB so I think the downhills will be the worst bit for me.
