Afternoon all. Just over 13 today. Legs still heavy after last Sunday. I mentioned the TiT to my OH for next year. After her reply (which may have included the word solicitors and pension!) I possibly won't be doing 10 in 10, more like 2 in 2. Anyway - taper time...again.

I have offered her a two week holiday in the Windermere area next year and still it is 'no'. I am now resorting to alcohol, chocolate, a weekend in Berlin (perhaps) and increasing her allowance to £10 on her credit card! That should seal it!

Does anyone have a guess as to how much time wise I should add onto my marathon time compared to a flatter course. Had a look at the first woman time last year and it was 3.18 so am now re evaluating my idea of sub 4h?

Someone mentioned the hills were worth around 10-15 minutes last year.

There's so much gentle downhill that the little ups are probably cancelled out

I would have thought far less than than 10-15 mins.
If you are used to/good on hills, I'd have thought a minute or two at most, and possibly nothing.
If not, assuming you are sensible on the climbs and ease up them rather than attacking and tiring yourself, 5ish minutes tops ... on the basis that there are probably only 3 places where you migh drop a mnute or so per mile.

chocaoltae & a weekend in florence swung it in my favour. To my suprise there's a marathon on in Florence whilst we are going to be there - what are the chances of that happening ?!!!
