yeah don't panic mags you've done all the hard work plus 23 miles is much further than most do for long runs, my long runs are 16 miles, i don't get enougjh time to run any further & 16 is rare, your fitness levels wont change in 4 weeks & rest & recovery are very important parts of training.

4 weeks should be fine. I've not done a long run since Rotterdam 3 weeks ago and not planning any before I have my next marathon next week. Then 2 weeks off before Windermere and another four weeks of easy running before South Downs.

Thanks Guys, will keep try and stay calm: my feet have start of plantar as well so am just trying to hold it all at bay till 17th May after that I can cut down on my hill and speed work a bit and hopefully resolve the achilles.I am in awe of all of you doing 10 in 10- WOW.

Mags - its too early for taper madness yet lol . As everyone else has said you've done the work , keep ticking over and you'll be fine . Endurance fitness doesnt disappear that quick , resting now will give your body time to repair and strenghthen you . You may perceive that you are losing fitness because of this repair ie stiffness and soreness , I know it well ;-)

Did two laps of Grafham Water today. 17.5 miles is the furthest I've run since Rotherham 50 I think. Lost a bit of fitness but will get around Windy with a smile I hope!

I tend to run my marathons in clumps. If I've trained for one, why not use the fitness for a few more at the same time :)

Not sure what I'm doing this summer yet so haven't planned beyond mid June at the moment.
