My Birthday is only 8.5 months before race day and I'll have another just 3.5 months after. It's never too late or too early to start.

Is it?

Mine is 2 weeks later so I'm sure I can justify some cake eating ;)

My birthday more or less 6 months after race day. Can I have a half birthday? (With full cake rations, obv)

All the best people have 2 birthdays. Like Paddington, and the Queen.

Cake!

I'll be in the area as a (slightly belated) 40th birthday party weekend, so will still be officially celebrating my new-found V40 status at Windermere.

That is- assuming I manage to convince Mrs XPS and the XPS parents and siblings, who are arranging said birthday weekend.

Let's plan the conversation: "thank you very much for organising a lovely weekend away to celebrate my 40th birthday". (I've done that bit already).

"Oh by the way- would it be OK if I disappear out for a run on Sunday morning, while you are all off at church?" (not done this bit)

"Oh and it would probably be a good idea for someone to drive me over from Keswick to Ambleside on Sunday morning, in case you need the car".

"Oh and do you all fancy coming along at about 1pm for a cheer, picnic and random pick-me-up-off-floor".

"Oh and I probably won't be up to driving home that evening".

Any suggestions on how to sweeten the message?!

Wot, FD? That went right over my head!

I only meant that I might end up having to make tiffin.
