Sports memorabilia auctions - get clubs to donate & then auction through work, occassionally a raffle. Currently raffling 2 tickets to see England v Ukraine at Wembley.
i was lucky to get tickets from some clubs & signed shirts from Wolves,QPR & Michael Owen. Fingers crossed for signed england shirts from Lampard,Rooney & Gerrard, plus have sent one to the FA. I got a signed bat from Surrey & tickets from Warks,Somerset,Lancs & Leics, Tickets for Ascot horse racing & a golf day at my local club. I asked local business for sponsorship & got money from Marshall Amps & Nationwide, much of this I got in the autumn just before the wheels fell off the economy.
Do you work for a big company ? that could be the way to go using online notice boards, email etc....
I find you have to give folks something just begging for cash can be tough.

I got my bits my simply writing, enclosing a photo (to show I'm serious) & posting it off, you don't ask you don't get.
How about a non uniform day & the kids pay a couple of quid to come in civvies ?
