Hello, Brathay Types!
I seem to be getting more than regular e-mails from 'Scott Umpleby', thanking me for my sponsorship efforts and advising me on how to raise even more...

Now, I wasn't really planning on big sponsorship for Brathay. I've paid my fee, and am willing to make a donation, but my intent was to be raising cash for another (similar) charity, Action for Children, instead.
Is it de rigeur to be sponsored for Brathay? Have I booked onto the wrong marathon? Thoughts please, greatly appreciated.

Evsco, no, there is absolutely no obligation to raise money for Brathay unless you're doing the TiT, and you can use the event for another cause. You won't be the only one by any means.

A donation, of course, would be most welcome ;)

I think we just all go on the distribution list - I didn't raise for Brathay last time - just think he's getting efficient at the fundraising thing. Thankless task - would rather run a marathon...!

Where is FoxyDavy? Has he run away? Am still waiting for slice of birthday cake, and champers has gone flat!

Foxy Davy
many thanks to you all for your birthday wishes, the reason for my late reply is I was away running the Athens Classic - an event I would highly recommend - a very well organised event with a challenging 18 miles uphill from the start with 8 miles downhill to finish in the ancient Olympic stadium :)

Will get cakes in May :)

A clubmate said - Windermere? If you want *scenic* you should do the Jungfrau Marathon!
