Psssst...the race isn't all that good. It might be flat, but if it's windy, you're fucked :-)

I only endured the frustrations of this mornings registration debacle because Mrs SOD wanted to run it...after last years cancellation, with no refund or even the offer of a guaranteed entry into this years race I vowed never to run it again.

Yes it's flat but really are times all we're bothered about. As far as the route goes its as dull as dishwater and as the race organisers proved last year they couldn't give a toss about runners, otherwise runners from 2012 would have been given priority. All about money for me.

First time I am running this race, has come at the right time in my Manchester marathon training plan as well, so can see how my training is panning out. Fingers crossed the weather will be ok and no repeat of last year :(

Yep - heard its pretty flat and fast, so hoping for a time close to my PB which I ran in Leeds last year. That was hillier than I thought it would be as well - so should be dooable if all goes well (although just found out that my mates engagement party is on the Saturday before - so that could scupper that idea!)

As for the debacle of the online registration, what a nightmare - Im sure it's easier to buy Glastonbury tickets! Well least I managed to sign up - 3 times at first! lol :)

It's flat, but it's also exposed. So it's not always a fast course. Windy day = battle.
