As I know you lot all love Cornwall (but never tell me when you're coming down), and as Dio has unintentionally just done a nice bit of press for the area in his blog of 21 Feb, it takes place in (Seaton/Downderry), it seemed a good time to mention my club's brand new race on Sunday March 31st 2019 - the Trepolpen Seythin 10k. Following the unfortunate loss of the hugely missed 5 Tors and building upon the success of the ever popular Cornish Marathon, the team at ECH have developed a totally new multi-terrain event. We are calling the event the Trepolpen Seythin 10k in recognition of the mix of village (Tre), coast (Pol) and hills (Pen) included in the event which is based at the Seaton Countryside Park. The name of the village in Cornish is ‘Seythin’. This will be a challenging route with a mix of unmade paths, woodland, road (with a particularly tough ascent), lanes and a sting in the tail along the beach from Downderry. It's only £14 for non-affiliated and £12 for affiliated. I have personally run the course, it is very tough, but very scenic - it will feel a lot longer than 10k (and take a lot longer). It is totally worth a weekend down here. Come on Fetchies you KNOW you want to. eastcornwallharriers.com |

Having driven up and down the roads into Seythin, I’ll only be doing it with the aid of a motorised vehicle.

It sounds like a fun challenge but I won’t be down until the end of June. I will probably do a few different parkruns whilst there though. |
