Yes, Pato - there was a bit of funnel craziness today. There were actually 298 finishers but only 291 got tokens and hence finishing positions.

Several runners somehow got a time but then climbed out of the funnel without getting a token - despite us having 2 marshals trying to stop this. A bit annoying really as it messes up the results. Just too many runner really - but Kwaka is about to sort this ... ;).

Not for a couple of months or so Bob....:-(

It may be worth reviewing the finish & looking at alternatives to the big queues. You dont want to spoil all your hard work.

Maybe more people with pen & paper, extra laptops &/or multiple queues to get times logged quicker. Maybe even pre-printed, numbered lists and get the runners to log there names against their finishing number. Hope this helps.

Good ideas Kwaka - I originally wanted to do the thing where runners log their own position. But we benefit from using the standard system used across parkrun - which others are working hard to improve.

We have 3 laptops all working now but the way things turn out usually at least 1 person is doing results for the first time. Parkrun will be moving to bar coding over the summer which will give a "fast track" results queue for regular runners.

But TBH 300 is too many for the Bramhall course - and a slow results queue is about the only way we have of limiting the number of runners and encouraging them to try one of the other runs.
