Can I just remind everyone that the bridge is slippery ;). >>>If RB and team can cope with the numbers then the more the merrier <<< That's the problem really - the results in particularly is becoming a nightmare job. And the paths aren't really big enough to cope safely with the numbers and it is getting harder for the faster athletes to lap the slower ones. Although looking at the hundreds of photos from this week there are so many people really enjoying it. Really the answer is to spread the enthusiasm to Woodbank Park (and soon Heaton Park) and I'd encourage you all to get involved with these new parkruns. I've got my hands full with Bramhall but will be giving advice to the other teams when needed. |

We can't cope really - the results are becoming a nightmare. And the paths aren't really suitable for these large numbers. But looking at all the photos from this week there are so many people really enjoying their running - which makes it all worthwhile. The answer really is to spread the enthusiasm to Woodbank (and later Heaton Park too) and I'd encourage you all to get involved in these new parkruns to at least help them off the ground. I've got my hands full at Bramhall but will be giving advice when needed. |

why do you think the numbers are suddenly shooting up - are they mainly new fecth runners reading about it here or is it being pushed in the local press etc or simply word of mounth to friends/family. I would so love to get something going in the wirral in birkenhead park and the growing popularty you are seeing here only bodes well for new entrants to this community.

Like Homer said - people bring their mates, they tell their mates ... Also nice weather, FLM on telly, GMR and RFL coming up. Chi - I can only encourage you to have a go at setting up a parkrun. Loads of runners near your area and not masses of races. Fmail me your email and I can send you some info. |

I've signed up for the North Cheshire 5km GP. Some great little races in nice places. As most of the races are on Friday evening or Saturday afternoon there is plenty of opportunities for "doubling" with BRTT. Series entries by end of next week. The Dunham Massey races tend to fill up. altrincham-athletics.co.uk |
