Was wondering whether 1 day a week of boxercise can benefit running performance? Particularly 5k to the half marathon distance.

If anyone doesn't know what boxercise is its basically boxing but without the fighting/sparring, just the circuit training.

Thanks,
Mike.

I love my weekly boxercise session. Does it help with running? Well, it gives a good cardio and resistance workout and depending on the moves, a good core or fast feet work.

I don't look at it as something that improves a specific sport, but I reckon it's good for all round fitness and a fabulous stress reliever.

I suspect there is a lot of good core work being done in a boxer code class too. Great cross training IMO.

It's a fantastic workout. Properly hard work. If you do it right :-)

I used to do Thai Boxing. Proper hardcore / nearly killed me.

Got something to say?
