hellen - because I'm quite narrow, I have to pull the wist band so tight that the bottles are actually situated on my sides rather than on my back. It's weird that it doesn't affect you as you said you are slim too. Must be down to running style as you said.

I might try the Soloman XA.

You'll have to let me know how that is. I've never found a backpack that will stay still on me...and I have 3 of them of fairly small size (between 10 and 20L). I wish I could try before I buy...

Thats not good you must be tiny

I also have a deuter race x rucksack which will go tighter than the Solomon one as it doesn't have the pockets on the hips. I like it but it is not as comfy as Solomon.

Not tiny. Didn't like the straps on the XA 20 and couldn't reach bottles if they were in the side pockets without dislocating my shoulders!

The XT wings vest type one didn't suit either :(

Have you tried the OMM last drop? I can just get at the bottles in the side pockets without needing to undo the pack. It's a 10L pack and has space for a hydration pack...I've shoved a platypus in it in the past.

Garfield - I have considered that, but it doesn't have waist strap pockets does it?
