Jovi Runner
Just read that Flanagans time would have won her the ladies race in any of the last 10 years (2003-13) apart from this year. I think she had to go for it otherwise the Africans would have just tagged onto the slower pace and then outsprited her at the end. With the winners all having PBs sub 2;23 (according to RW online) if she wanted to win I dont think she had any choice other than to set out at the oace she did if she wanted to win it which was what her stated am was.

57.5 Degrees of Pain
Cheers Old Croc. Warm day, can't believe the women were so much faster than when I ran with a tail wind in 2011 in today's conditions. Had a good run however, thought the mile was a chore when the heat caught up to me.

2:58:43 for me and an hour in the medical tent afterwards. Too hot for me today but pleased with my time.

57.5 Degrees of Pain
Ouch PCleasby. A lot of people looked rough late on. 2.57.10 for me.

Once a Sprinter ...
A very disappointing 3:40:00 for me - more than 20 minutes outside my target. Very disappointing after the best 4 months training of my 40+ years as a runner.

I must be jinxed here. In 2004 I was running great but faced 85 degree temperatures. Last year I was injured and walked / jogged and did not get to the finish line. This year was just too hot for me. 3:40 is a BQ for 2015 but much as I like this race, it does not like me.

At least I was second V55 in the 5k on Saturday

Well done all

Interesting article about how Ryan Hall held the American runners back to allow Meb to escape and to give the African runners too much work to do to catch him.

A PW of 3:46 for me and I'm ecstatic!

I gave myself a realistic 50/50 chance of even finishing - somewhat slower than my qualifying 3:08 - but the pain from the injury was intolerable near the end.

Back home in the UK now
