Columba
Just back from 2 weeks away, and out-of-touch. I note we're nearly in August so it must be choosinator time, and I don't wish to be choosinator this time round so please leave me out. In fact, it's so nearly August that the choosinator has probably already been selected. |

Today I read in the S Times Culture section about some female novelists who've been re-published decades after their first publication. One novel was The Feast, by Margaret Kennedy. This afternoon I was browsing the shelves of one of the local bookshops and what do I spy? The Feast I've already started reading it and it's shaping up nicely

I added Star Rover by Jack London to my book list: When You Are Engulfed In Flames By David Sedaris Seize the Day - My Autobiography By Tanni Grey Thompson Sea, the Sea By Iris Murdoch Scoop By Evelyn Waugh Adventures of Huckleberry Finn By Mark Twain Go Set a Watchman By Harper Lee Overtaken By Alexei Sayle Post Office By Charles Bukowski Breakfast of Champions By Kurt Vonnegut Under Milk Wood By Dylan Thomas Down To The Sea In Ships By Horatio Clare The Troop By Nick Cutter Star Rover by Jack London World of Books (aka WOB) offered all of these for £54.56 - but I thought I'd have a quick look around (as The Troop was £8.XX, and I reckoned I might get it for less). I ended up on abebooks.co.uk, and got all 13 books for £47.60 Seven quid! That's pretty much two more books |

Ok, I have decided: Haruki Murakami: The Wind-up Bird Chronicle. Another big one, but it begged me to choose it when I bought "Circle"... |

I will give that a miss, sorry, because I couldn't hold out any longer to buy my books (too excited), and I've also just recently read Norwegian Wood - so I am all Murakami'd out.
