I don't read any book thread books, I just read the book threads.

Am waiting patiently to discover why Gripes thinks CMODE (have I got that right?) is a thoroughly nasty little book. That's quite a precise judgement.

Thanks Linds, found Greg's reivew on page 7: 'It is a horrible book which will be beloved I’m sure by guerrilla Guardianistas and champagne socialist hipster sociopaths. The rest of us are best off avoiding it like swamp fever or trench foot.'

Columba 'tend to agree'. But you and Dio loved it! (And Bint IIRR )

Thanks Sharkles. I stand by that review. There have been other books I've hated (most notably Gone Girl), but none come to mind where I find other people liking them unsettling.

The Rachel Papers and Dead Babies. Do we need a nasty book thread?

The Rachel Papers, yes, Dead Babies is dead good, though
