I'm entered for Boddington Marathon this year (my place was deferred from last year due to a sprained ankle), just happened to look on the website, and it's cancelled! It would have been my first marathon, perfect for me - flat, and laps! Gutted! beyondthelimitations.co.uk

Ignore the above post as Section 75 of the Consumer credit act only applies to purchases >£100 - SORRY!

I paid by Paypal, so if I hear nothing I'll request a Chargeback. Only problem would be that I paid for last year's race, couldn't run due to injury so asked for my place to be deferred to this year, but I have all the emails that OK'd the deferrment, and the confirmation of payment email.

Apparently they cancelled 3 marathons, on the trot. One for the weather, and 2 for "lack of interest", not enough people applying.

A poster on RW says

"I did get a full refund eventually. The only reason I got this was because I wrote to UK Athletics. I would suggest that other people follow the same path if they are dissatisfied. "

adrianb1066, the £100 threshold is the law but you'll find some credit card providers exceed their legal requirement by covering all purchases rather than just those over £100. So worth checking with them.
