I'm afraid to say that as good as Andy is I think it's rather the case of a Championship player trying to step up to the Premiership. The calibre of those that have run fast BGs in recent times is distinctly higher than those that have chased the 24 hour record.

Good on him for having a crack at that. Looks like it was a Good Day Out from the bits Iβve seen.

Not a bad (half!) day out. Fells must be really fast at the moment.

I'm heading down for a BGR support in a couple of days. My runner heads off at 7pm on Friday, so leg 2 will be in the dark. I'm on changeovers at Threlkeld and Dunmail Raise at stupid o'clock, and pacing leg 5 on Saturday afternoon. I'll be packing an umbrella π π§ π§ π¦ π

A 7pm start is preferable in my opinon. Leg 2 in the dark isn't the problem it used to be, just be sure to pick up Watson's and Stybarrow and all will be well. Simon F was showing me a recent strava trace featuring those two tops and it was faintly unbelievable, you have to know precisely where you're going I guess.
Saying that, I have been on a leg 2 support - many moons ago - where the only questionable top turned out to be Seat Sandal in thick clag!
