It's been there for a little while now. Unfortunately because of the historical limitations of the data set Bob is working with it doesn't seem to be that accurate (e.g. I have done at least 25 Leg 3s over the years, of which at least 50% have been part of successful rounds, but there are only 6 linked directly to myself (by membership number) and a further two indirectly. Similarly for the other legs). Though I suspect the more unusual the name the more accurate it will be for someone. Historically in the days of pure paper submissions to Fred not all pacers were neccessarily recorded. People often just put down the person on each leg whose signature it was easiest to get hold of afterwards. I suspect with the advent of this table there will be an increased desire by supporters to ensure their names are on the supporters list.

Yes that was definitely a practice in days gone by i.e. the philosophy of verification by another club member not just any old joe was definitely a 'thing' even though not a requirement. (it may also mean that when there wasn't such a person on a given leg names were juggled to give the right impression!)

I'd not thought of it whilst looking at the list but it explains why people who I know have done supports for years are down as doing no supports until after their own rounds.

It appears, from Twatter, that Alex Staniforth is attempting the Lakes, Meres and Waters in under 28 hours in 4 weeks time.

Which book? The green 42 Peaks? I hadn’t realised they aren’t easy or cheap to source at the moment

Perhaps Snoot is referring to Joss's book on the subject. Cicerone published it last year, I was fortunate enough to be sent a review copy.
