Interesting that Jack's completion is only the 4th ACW one in winter and the first one for 11 years. I wonder whether his round will highlight a relatively soft way for people to set a BG record?

Still faster than my summer CW!

Isn’t it said to get round go ACW, to get round fast go CW!

Hopefully whoever tries it next will do it nice and low key.

They do Dave and it's faster than most people's summer rounds but if you're looking to break a record it's a 'relatively' easier one. Particularly if you can find the sort of weather that has been around recently (e.g. clear skies, frozen ground, relatively low wind).

I see that Fiona Pascall broke the ladies' Tea Room Round record yesterday. I've been following the ATR since its inception and have had a keen interest on the various lines employed and I tell you what, Fiona really had some good ones yesterday. There were a couple of places where she could have saved a few minutes, but given that she finished in 6:02 it's hardly worth mentioning :-) She was flying.

I think if there wasn't a more famous name in the family her running CV would be attracting more attention that it currently is (e.g. 6th fastest BG qualifying round by a woman, 12th fastest ever). She clearly has a lot of ability.

I think, if I saw rightly yesterday, the upload of it was on the Bookface page.

That is something I am looking at, should my knee heal sufficiently. An espresso round and a tea round at some point.
