Anyone notice this Facebook post on the BGR club page today? :
Hi, I’m hoping to do a Bob Graham Round next June for my 36th Birthday. It’s been on my radar a while. I’m a trans guy and I would love to have a support team made up entirely of LGBTQIA folk. So if you are LGBTQIA identifying and would be up for helping me I’d love to hear from you!
There a quite a lot of admins for that page, I'm one of them. I can tell you there have already been numerous private complaints, not about the post content but because the person concerned doesn't want support from anyone if they don't identify as detailed, ergo it's highly exclusive. Nobody has dared take action yet.
Thoughts?

Yep, saw that. It doesn’t bother me tbh. If they want to do their round in a certain way I don’t see anything wrong with that.

In other news Laurie Cranston stopped on their solo effort. Not sure when, just checked the tracker.

Dave - absolutely, it doesn't bother me and shouldn't bother anyone else either, the complaints appear to be about the exclusivity of it. I've been chewing over it and I think you're right, if they want to do their round supported solely by a certain section of society, I think that's their prerogative - I have to say that they'll be limiting the experience base somewhat, but I imagine that's understood.

p.s. I think Laurie stopped two or three days back. Later than the pundits were betting on to be fair.

Is it any worse than someone on FB proposing to do a round with an all female support crew? Bottom line, the participant has to get round on their own legs and if they choose to narrow down their support options for reasons of their own that can hardly be considered cheating. Are people seriously complaining because they, or someone on whose behalf they believe they are entitled to advocate, are excluded from supporting someone else's BGR?

A few years ago an all female group did a Billy Bland challenge and called it a ‘Boob Graham Round’ I’m pretty sure there was no uproar then.
