V3K = Vegan Welsh 3000s vegan-welsh-3000s.co.uk It was at the end of June this year so it would only work as a training run next year f you were going in August. |

Looks fun. we might consider an Aug attempt. We usually spend July in the Alps, which would mean we had plenty of red blood cells to give us an extra edge! June is probably better though. |

Alps trip, taper , BG sounds perfect. We both had a week in the Lakes a fortnight before our rounds

We'd be spending a fair bit of time above 4000m in the alps - you usually come back super fit! Didn't happen like that this year due to terrible (dangerous) conditions high up for most of the trip, so we went trail running instead. Ran a fair bit of the Eiger Ultra Trail which was fun. |

Being a flatlander, it's not the climbing that is a problem. It is the descending

My ascending legs went before my descending ones in L100 I'm not exactly a flatlander - I live on the edge of the NY Moors - but my longest ascents/descents during regular training max out at around 200m up/down. The Moors are pleasantly lumpy, but definitely don't offer any big ascents. I guess I should just compensate with "big" weekends in the Lakes? FR, what's your plan for handling the ascent? |
