Finish time vs chip time SusieSue? The results are out and your finish time looks 6 mins slower than chip time.

Yes, I think the text results are gun times, not chip times. Mine was 4 mins different and I was further towards the start than you. So don't cry Sue!

I crossed the line just over 55 mins, so it could have been me who got the shout out!

why on earth would they shell out on a fancy pants timing system and then text your gun time????

actually, that's the thing that planted the doubt in my mind. A couple of girls from my running group had texts with chip time. V annoying but at least I can start the celebration now!!

Any thoughts on the actual distance? My Garmin 220 gave me 5.85 and a mate I met at finish had 5.86 so pretty close but would just like my logged race result on here to be the correct distance.

My Garmin 910XT had the distance at 5.78. There's always going to be a bit of discrepancy but I think it's probably nearer 5.8 than 5.7

I think a lot depends on where they put the turnaround on the river and where the finish line is. I seem to recall more grass last year!

My Garmin said 5.78 and 5.77 last year. Which is close enough for me! :)

SlowSteph!
It said in the pre race info something about a longer run to the finish line and it says on the website 5.9 so I thought it was going to be 5.9, which plus the weaving about I seem to do would usually be over 6 on my garmin but I measured 5.85. Had I known I'd have put in a bit more effort earlier on. Still, finished in 43.15 (chip time!) which is a massive PB for me so well chuffed!
Totally love Blaydon, my favourite race of the year.
