Entered today for Blackpool & Edinburgh 2014, both courses look reasonably favourable.

Well I done the marathon yesterday in 3:21:07, tough conditions with at least 15 miles of the race into a headwind, the 4 mile section x 2 along the sea front wall was tortuous especially second time round.

I knew when I entered the weather could be a decisive factor in any sub 3:15 attempt and I knew from early doors how hard I was having to work to maintain average 7:30's.

Was on target for around 3:15/3:16 to 22 miles then the wind machine got turned up a few notches, never mind another one completed only 3 weeks after my first ultra and sure on a better day I'll go well under 3:15.

Nice one Cammy !! I was 3:21:29 so mst have been right behind you :-)

Had a great run and beat the pb by about 7 minutes but that wind from 22 miles was zapping !! The legs were willing but I dropped 60s per mile for those 4 miles, up the ramp and picked up pace no problem. Great day though and really pleased :-)

Great running to PB by 7 minutes, you'd have smashed it further if last 4 had been calmer.

Was at 2:49.00 pace till 15miles, dropped the pace from there till hitting the wind at mile 22 when sub 3HR came the likely target. Unfortunately ran out of energy at mile 24 to finish in 3HR 3min 20sec, a new PB by over 3min and the GFA for London.

White peak in 5weeks and hopefully 2:55-sub 3hr

Got something to say?
