A bit of advice, please...

I've just run part one of this weekend's back-to-back long runs, and due to poor Vaselining and sub-optimal short selection now have massive chafing on the inside of one of my thighs.

Any (vaguely sensible) ideas on how I might best treat this now so I'm running like John Wayne for my second long run tomorrow?

(In addition to the usual stuff like Vaseline and Bodyglide, I do have access to an armoury of children's products like Sudocrem and Bepanthen, if that helps...)

Sudocrem overnight in copious amounts. Not had issues running before, but had similar problems after some very high mileage bike rides in the past.

Yep Sudocream, tis the best gear out there.

Pair of unpadded cycle shorts for tomorrows run should help stop anymore chaffage.

Oh, got any spray plaster??? It'll hurt like hell when you first spray it on, but you can build it up in layers afterwards. Gives a layer to wear off that isn't you before it gets to the painful bit underneath.

(My kids call it jumping spray, because it makes you hop up and down when you apply it.... :-) )

Different cut (and higher quality) of shorts tomorrow, with thorough vaselineing, should avoid making things worse at least.

I do have a pair of compression shorts, but they're a pain for anything over 3-4 miles. Just keep slipping down and moving around...
