I've just looked on the website and two things to note if you haven't seen already:

1) It is going go ahead whatever the weather (I must admit with other events being cancelled left right and centre I did wonder). Hooray :)
2) They have now got the use of the showers at the NIA, I used them a couple of years ago post race and at the time they were perfectly acceptable

btw it has been raining non stop here (Wolverhampton) since about 09.00 this morning.....

Thanks Nat, glad to hear it's going ahead as we are already on our way, wish I had checked the website this morning re showers and I would have packed a towel.

Approximately 9mm of rain so far in Birmingham today, and as Nat said it has not stopped all day. Radar looks as though it might stop at some point in the next couple of hours. The forecast seems to suggest that once the rain stops, it won't rain again until around lunchtime tomorrow.

To be honest all the rain today won't have made any difference. We had 126mm rain last month in Birmingham - so the towpaths would have been one big puddle anyway...

It's finally stopped in Walsall. Hope it stays like it. Guess there's no excuse now

That was a lot harder than last year, 13 miles of muddy puddles with the only respite being the last 100m :-O

Shame they couldn't afford a better goody bag, crisps, gel, sweets, nutri-grain & rock ok. But last years canvas bag, what's that about?

Loved the route as usual, duckling, ponies etc I am sure I will be back next year :)

That was ridiculously hard! I can parade a great raft of excuses but I'll just come back next year. I want to get under 2 hours but just seem to be getting slower!

Very tough going, I have some very tender toes tonight due to 13 miles of wet feet! I've always said it's not a fast course and today some of the muddy bits were just comical. Love the race though :)

What canvas bag!? The only bag I got was of cheese and onion crisps! :-o :)
