Doing the luton marathon in november and dont know much about marathon training but was wondering ways other runners on this site train. I have a marathon coach at my club who is helping me along but just interested to hear from other runners, im up to 16 miles already and ive got until november so training is going well.

Run as much as you can without hurting yourself.

Flying in the face of a conversation I had with GlennR on Saturday, I believe the most and vital part of training for a marathon is the lsr.

Lots of lovely slow miles. If you're breathing too hard you're going too fast.

Long slow runs is the key.

Look at my training schedule...their absence hurts in the later miles..16 miles now is great.
