I'm doing the Dursley dozen next month and need some trail shoes. I'm an over probater and wear saucony pro grid omni's 7.5 size when I'm a size 6. My feet can be wide, I did buy a cheap Saucony pair for £25 and they felt like clumpy boots, I ran ten miles in them and it was uncomfortable. Can anyone recommend some at a reasonable price?

Rightly or wrongly when I was in the same situation I was told that pronation is irrelevant off road due to the uneven ground.

Probably depends on the nature of the 'trail' but certainly for fell running pronation etc isn't an issue. I'm quite cynical about a lot of major-brand trail shoes. Many are little more than road shoes with colored uppers ;-)

I was an over pronator but with trail shoes I'm not. Inov8 trail shoes would be my recommendation.

Neutrals. Your pronation will 'correct' on the terrain. It's best not to over think shoes when you're trail running as you need to feel the camber and the ground is much more forgiving. Take more interest in the kind of grip they'll offer you on the trail. I have innov8s that I love. They can be a bit narrow though, so best to try before you buy.

Thanks everyone, I'll try the innov8s for size and go from there :-)

Inov8 x-talons are light but very grippy. I love them.

Well I went to moti (fab running shop in Cardiff), and I have purchased a pair of Inov-8 Roclite 268's. I'm usually a size 7.5 but got a 6 as they are VERY generous with their sizing. Love love love them, thanks all :-)
