See you at Beachy Head Slowbutfar, hope you get on well with Advanced Marathoning. It is widely recognized as one of the best and the schedules are brilliant.

Happy to help with the training plan Sarah if you wish.

Sarah - how much time/effort you want to dedicate to it? Alternatively, what do you want to achieve / do you have a specific (time) goal in mind, or is the mara a means to a broader end (better all round fitness, 10k/HM etc..)?

The answers to those questions will give you your starting parameters and from then it's a question of working out the details of the programme - RW is good, Hal Higdon, Pfitzinger & Douglas etc. etc. - but you'll find most decent mara training schedules share critical features: aerobic base building, LRs, LT work / long intervals to build speed endurance and sharpening/tapering phase.

Once you choose - load it up into your training plan, and let the collective wisdom of fetch comment and advise... you'll find we're an opinionated crew!

I've just watched some of the finishing videos, and I can't believe that none of you told Balham Bouncer that he was running with his hat on back to front! Really, what sortof friends are you?!
