Hmmmm - tough one that!
I'd get out this week and do a decent length run at 8min/miles, and if it's conversational, then I'd 'consider' it for the marathon
The safer bet would be to plan 8:30's for the marathon - which, if you can to 8's conversationally, should seem like sleep- walking for 18-20 miles.. and then aim to at least keep that pace, or increase it in the last 10k
If 8's are too fast, you'll crash and burn, anad run slower overall than if you start at 8:30's.
But the person best placed to judge how able you are to maintain one pace or the other for 26.2 (or 42.18) is you!
Or compromise - and go for 8:15's :)

It's worth bearing in mind you can't go too slowly in the first half of a marathon... but you can blow the enitre race by going just a little too quick

In the overall scheme of things 3:45 would be a step up over all you race distances HOD
(just been doing some rough sums!!)

8:30's are more likely to get you a pb (allowing for some drop off in the last few miles)

It would be a pity to go all that way, and sabotage your race with some silly early miles!

I like that - I'm going to use it as m mantra for race day.

While I'd really really like to aim for 3:30, I think it's going to be much more realistic to head out at 8:30 mm pace - especially after how painful abingdon was last year.

Yep, 8:30's for me and if there's anything left at 20 (which I doubt) I'll wind it up a notch.

If any Fetchies see me going faster on the day feel free to yell profanities at me to get me back to the plan. It's all to tempting to get stupid on race day :(

Ok thanks guys I may do around 8.15-8.30. Or start at 8.30 and see if I can kick on. Someone (or two) gave me the 8 mm idea.

I think it prob best to keep around 8.5

somewhere between 8:45s and 9:09s for me. Will see how the next 10 days and the weather go!

Warning: if I don't sub-4 I should be avoided after the race!
