Ironically at 18 miles at Loch Ness (my first) it was a BIG hill I walked some of it then carried on. Marathons are run in the mind (oh and you need strong legs too) you will complete it but like me you'll prob slow up after about 19/20

flanker Sep 2007 10:00am, 11 Sep 2007 6,209 posts	Quote Pin flanker Sarah, you'll make it off 18 miles of training. My first one I did of a longest run of 18 miles and 7 weeks of training. Had to run/walk a bit at the end, mainly due to cramp, but still beat 4:30 (by 7 seconds!).

Sep 2007 11:04am, 13 Sep 2007 1,392 posts	Quote Pin Well Berliners,i tried to do 6 x 1 mile reps last night @ Magaluff , spain. here goes 1st rep.5.23 /2nd 5 33. 3rd 5;38 ./4th, 5:45 ,couldnt do any more ,just no AIR! plus was vomiting after each one after2nd one.Just one more long run fri morn at 7am ,19 /22 miles. that should be fun !!
