just catching up on this thread and noticed you were running along the Cam yesterday, Max. Might have bumped into you on my bike ... I'd have tagged along with you had I known.

I've not done a run this week, but planning to take the Pathfinder marathon tomorrow at very very slow pace ... if you are around it starts about 5 miles north west of Cambridge just off the A14. Don't know about the route ... it is really a walk and comes with a route description, so I guess much of it will be across fields etc. (found it on the list of marathons from the 100 marathon club http://www.100marathonclub.org.uk/race-marathon.html) Start is at 8:30 am tomorrow

Bum, BW, just got home and saw this!!

Yep I did my 20 miler through Cambridge, during the hottest part of the day! I didn't enjoy the run much though. My mate is not a runner and did her best to find me a route but we only managed a couple of miles along the Cam, the rest of it was around Cambridge itself. I was disappointed that not one runner returned my smile / nod they all looked away...even in south london we smile at each other. I would not have been hard to spot BW as I'm pretty sure I was the only black girl, dressed in black running through Cambridge on Saturday!

Do you know a route from Cambourne to Cambridge? Or at least some pointers for my next 20 miler?

It's obligatory to chew on a lime before you venture out of the house round these parts Max. Bit of a monoculture, but we know our limes ;-)

Don't think there is an easy route from Cambourne to Cambridge. You can see what others have done on mapmyrun:

old.mapmyrun.com

I typically run along the river north of the town, towards Waterbeach, something like the river parts of this run:

Let me know if you'd like to try it out if you're around again.

I like the look of that first one, the only thing that bothers me a wee bit is the fact it's an incline of over 10ft for 11 miles all the wy home....I cannot work out if I will notice that or not.
