Yes, the entry fee keeps going up and up for Berlin. I'd like to do it again...in a couple of years' time. Good luck to you guys. London's actually easy for me to get to, but the chances of getting in are infinitesimal...and I don't fancy doing the fund raising for it...stupid amounts of money to raise now.

I suppose I don't have much to say DeeGee :)

Berlin was my first marathon in 2010, so will always be special...

Is it a ballot to get in now?

I went with a load of Fetchies - it was amazing.

Before then, I'd never been away with runners & seen race routines.

The race as well was pretty amazing too. I gave my 100% to sprint to the Gate before collapsing in a heap. Unfortunately, that's not quite the end - d'oh!

Hi Kieran - yes, they've had a ballot for around five years now, I think. There's huge demand from overseas runners, I would venture to say possibly more than from German runners even. I think I may have some stats from 2018 (my last run there) somewhere about representation from different countries. I'll try and find them.

Thanks Synge - I suppose it was inevitable. It's flat, great location, very well organised and relatively easy to get to. Public transport was free on marathon weekend (or maybe just day) too, so no need to faff around buying passes with hundreds of other people. That said, you can perhaps use contactless these days too.
