Not for me next year, although I thoroughly enjoyed my weekend this year, despite the sideways rain, I owe it to my family to not keep doing the same events, so I'm looking elsewhere for next September.

Nice outcome, Fordy! I didn't get a place in the ballot. I am debating whether to enter through Prostate Cancer UK again. They ask for £20 for a place in return for a fundraising pledge which has this year gone up from £500 to £700. I think that's achievable for me, but I may just wait for a ballot place another year. |

Sorry to hear that Hark. Although a guy in the office did exactly what you're proposing. He didn't get a ballot place but has secured on through Prostate Cancer UK. When you say "again", have you done Berlin before? If so, how was it? Any tips, do's/dont's…? |

It's the only overseas marathon I have done and I love it! I have done it four times now - the last occasions were 2016 and 2018. I see you have run marathons before, so I won't try to give you tips for the race itself. It is a fast course (as you may know from the number of times the WR has been broken there) and if you are on your 2013/14 form, you should be able to take a serious look at the 3-hour target. Equally, it's a good course for sightseeing and I went round with a camera one year: flickr.com Berlin is a fascinating city for its history, particularly the second half of the twentieth century, and so if you can stretch you visit by a day or two, I would recommend that you do. I did put some general visitor tips on the 2019 thread which you may find of some interest: fetcheveryone.com/viewtopic.php?id=60579 Best of luck with the training! |

Perfect. Thanks for this. I'll have a look when I'm not in the office pretending to be busy Unfortunately my 2013/14 form is some way off at the moment but I'm hopeful a good block of training will get me somewhere near. |

How likely do we think this is to go ahead on the original date people? How is training going amidst all this madness?? |
