Yep deferred last year. You get about €30 discount on the next year's entry. I hope you didn't book you hotels non refundable |

Anyone going with Running Crazy? I got a ballot place and my partner will be entering with one of their places. Interested to know which hotel they use. |

With Edinburgh marathon out of the way, all thoughts turn to Berlin now. I was happy enough with a 4hr 14, I'd decided in advance that I would treat the Edinburgh run as a training run rather than trying to beat my 4hr nemesis. Mainly treadmill training from Jan to Mar meant a shock to the system when I started to focus more on road running. I expected a bit of a difference but I felt as though I was starting from scratch again. Then add the snow, man flu and a hamstring pull into the mix I think I lost a few weeks of running so all in all Edinburgh went well. Anyway, into week 2 of a Hal Higdon recovery plan now, feeling OK and will do a modified P&D 12 week plan to get me through to race day. I love Germany having lived there for 3 years and can't wait to go back. I hope everyone else's training is going well? |

Union Berlin, the 2. Bundesliga team based in the old East Berlin, have a home game against MSV Duisburg at 17:30 on Friday 14 September. I've seen them play twice before on Berlin Marathon weekends and there's a great atmosphere. Good old-fashioned standing on the terraces and lots of chanting. If you're arriving in Berlin on the Friday or earlier, it's a good option for some entertainment.

Hi - I'm entered in the Berlin Marathon in September. But unfortunately I've got a stress fracture in my left foot. Does anyone know if you can defer you place to next year? I've done a bit of googling and it would appear you can't - which seems a bit harsh? Pretty gutted as I've entered the ballot for several years in a row and was finally successful this time! |

Donalf- sorry to hear re stress frscture - hope it heals quickly. Yes you can definitely defer as I deferred my 2016 place to 2017. I couldn't find anything on website at the time either so I emailed the general email contact from their site & they then sent me info including a code to defer & enter the next year. From memory I think they sent conf of deferment straight away & then code to enter at the end of January) . You get a reduction on the following year's entry unlike London etc where you never have to pay in full again.

Donalf - Heres hoping tgry let you defer. Bit left field but can anyone who's been to Berlin marathon before remind me what time the inline skating marathon on the Saturday starts/finishes. I've looked on web & can't find info. I'm trying to time watching some of that with booking a trip to visit the Reichstag. |

Jovi, I believe it's a 3:30pm start. I was there last year and it was around that time.
