Have never run a marathon before, and I know this is a hard one so maybe not the cleverest idea but really looking forward to it! Number arrived a couple weeks ago, now posted on the wall as reminder not to slack off now. Strangely excited about this!

TMW I fear you might actually be serious. :-( Tell us it's not really true! Or is BH just too easy if not part of the triple??

!!!

I do hope you get it timed perfectly to come charging down that hill while we're all standing on the starting line!

Anybody slightlyt more sensible--you know, only planning to go round once--have any tips for just surviving this for a first-timer? I guess it's time to start officially training about now...

I *know* it gonna be tough but I'm not afraid to walk up hills as needed! Just want to finish it and enjoy it as far as possible.

As for training: just usual mara training--well, hmm, having not done one before, won't be that usual for me :-) butg have downloaded a couple of schedules to attempt to stick to.

Hills--yes, fortunately, it's nothing but hills round these parts!

And as for running offroad, yep, all my running is. Only run roads as far as necessary to get to edges of town and reach the trails.
