Hello, delighted to find this website refereed by members of the RW forums. Great work that man Ian, I admire your effort.

I see there is a few threads for Beachy Head but they have all gone quiet and since the race this year is my entire focus for running over the next 14 weeks I thought I'd be bold and start a new thread and see if anyone else wants to talk about the race.

I'm two weeks into a 3 day per week 16 week plan that culminates on the day of the race. The race itself and the tripp to the race is a 43rd birthday present to myself that I'm looking forward to. Despite being a hobbyist runner for the last 13 years and having completed 3 marathons in that time I think if I reach the starting line of this race having followed the plan I'll be in the best fitness of my life ever so I'm quite excited about that prospect.

Oh, just while I've been writing this, I found the marathon in events and the 20 other site members who have entered.. look forward to training and running with you all on the day :)

Welcome to fetch, see you at Beachy! Assuming I don’t miss the start again this year by wandering off for a wee after the gun goes...

I’ve done three but not in the last ten years or so. It’s a great day out

I’ve done one (2008). It’s a great day out.

I'm on the start sheet for this year. Whether I actually start depends on Things.

I'll be there too. It will be my 51st birthday so you can all sing to me :)

And welcome, logicscience. You'll like it here.

I went for a sluggish 3 mile plod this evening, second of the week. I had to walk the hill home. I have hardly run in ages so decided the way to rectify this was to enter Beachy Head marathon. Kill or cure.
