Hi ,
It looks like you're using an ad blocker.

The revenue generated from the adverts on the site is a critical part of our funding - and it's because of these ads that I can offer the site for free. But using the site for free AND blocking the ads doesn't feel like a great thing to do, which is why this box is so large and inconvenient. Some sites will completely block your access, but I'm not doing that - I'm appealing to your good nature instead. Did you know that you can allow ads for specific sites, whilst still blocking them on others?

Thanks,
Ian Williams aka Fetch

1:50 to 1:55 I reckon, TBB. Aim for that and see how I go.

I'd like to get close to sub 90 too.

I had a mare last time here a couple of years ago. Asthma + chest infection - inhaler = horrible race.

I've a demon or 2 to bury.

Could be a possible PB also if I decide to push it. Broke PB at Helsby in January and I think Wilmslows a quicker course.

Have got Blackpool Marathon the week after tho so not sure if it's a good idea to push hard at Wilmslow or just treat it as a training run and plod round.

Silkman - There's alway the congestion to consider I suppose. I lost 3 minutes off my target pace last year in the first mile so maybe you should leave it in the lap of the congestion gods and see where you are after 2 - 3 miles. On target would be a bonus !

Could be a good idea that. The congestion is a problem although with chipped timing being introduced this year you shouldn't lose too much time just getting to the start line.

TBB, I think you should decide whether to push for a fast time or not based on how you feel after Grindleford by the way. :)

Roo, I did 16 miles over muddy fields yesterday in prep for Grindleford. My legs are ragging me now ! At the moment I'm either going to hammer it and go for a pb or hang back and just try to beat last years time (1:56). I'm contemplating using it as the middle section of a long run on the day as part of marathon prep. That frightens me a little just typing it so maybe not.

:) Number here waiting for me along with all the bits and bobs. Isn't that KinkyS's dad on the front of the little programme/guide thing ? Sunderland top, top right hand picture ?

TBB - I maybe running around your time I was hoping to go for a PB but recent timings at BRTT and High Legh have led me that 1:41ish possibly just getting under 1:40 are more realistic. As for the congestion in my experience have to start nearish the front (not quite beside runningbob but a few rows behind him :-) )
