Hi ,
It looks like you're using an ad blocker.

The revenue generated from the adverts on the site is a critical part of our funding - and it's because of these ads that I can offer the site for free. But using the site for free AND blocking the ads doesn't feel like a great thing to do, which is why this box is so large and inconvenient. Some sites will completely block your access, but I'm not doing that - I'm appealing to your good nature instead. Did you know that you can allow ads for specific sites, whilst still blocking them on others?

Thanks,
Ian Williams aka Fetch

Jacobi - I think that Wilmslow still holds the record for fastest half since it was won by a flying Kenyan in 60.xx a few years back. I think that this is still the UK all comers record - GNR doesn't count as official HM because it is downhill.

It's never been the fastest for me - I suspect it is slightly long - Malcolm always errs on the long side. Also as a Wilmslow runner the expectation is high - most years I've run faster on the hills at Macc HM.

FWIW Wrexham Village Bakery is the flattest and fastest in the NW and like Homer said.

But I'd say that Wilmslow HM manages to hit the right balance between big race atmosphere + athletes and local race fun + support.

I always think it is overpriced but it does have good prizes and finally we've got chip timing this year.

I'm doing Gosport - down South which will be flat as a pancake BUT could be windy as it is on the coast.

I love the bit of this race around the Mobberley village hall. There is a little dell with raised pavements and it is mobbed with locals shouting theit heads off. I am very very excited about running this again :-)

This is really a great race

Me too :-) I didn't run this year because I thought it was too near FLM (it wasn't) and felt really jealous when everyone ran off. I've only done it once and its still my PB course.

I too it easy this year before FLM.....no excuses for 2009. I set a HM PB 2 weeks ago on a dodgy brummy course...Wilmslow course is great

This will be my 3r Wilmslow half but my 1st as a Wilmslow runner...even better :-)

Can we have a better color T shirt this year? White is fine but the grey one last year was a bit :(
