Lost my post, I'll try again.
I'm thinking of trying this one again, was on for a good pb here this year til I tore my calf. I may have to give it another go to try and beat this years time. Any ideas how quickly it fills up? I'll need a few days to talk my husband round to it.

I'm glad that you're all looking forward to it.
Wilmslow is popular because it is big enough to be a real occasion in the area but small enough to remain relaxed and friendly. Also it has a reputation for fast times largely due to the quality of athletes at the sharp end. Last year Tomas Abyu won and a few years back the UK's fastest HM time was recorded here (Isaac Macharia 61:52).
The course is fairly flat although there are some dips and there is a long gradual uphill in the last few miles (often into the wind).
The 2:35 limit helps the organisation especially police and road closures. Much of the course is on country roads with no pavements. Also since demand exceeds places we want to prioritise people who will run for the whole 13 miles. Their are other mass events like the GMR that are more aimed at walkers.
All the proceeds from Wilmslow HM go to local charities, scout organisations and sports clubs (not including the running club).

Hi Guys - would be great to see you there
Its all on quiet country roads that are all closed to traffic and hard surfaced...though the bit after the finish is bumpy

Mick - I will fmail you the email address of the organsier - I suggest that you drop him a line. Mention that you recently ran Macc. Also Andy O'Sullivan the commentator at Macc does the same job at Wilmslow - so you have other friends there already.
